SKETCHES AND CONCEPT MODEL

I have decided to work with the model that is expressing flow or fluidity. The model shows the general potential spaces my building type should have, such as a theater, central corridor and small auditorium. etc.

  1. The sketches along with the model are very dramatic. It is hard to imagine how this building sits on the site. The next step is to work on the drawings to scale - plans, sections while continuing to work on the model. It appears to be that of a wave - cantilevering toward the sea. How is this building grounded? I would imagine something very strong being the base that holds this building to the site.

  2. This model has an interesting intention in regards to the envelope of the building. How does this envelope relates to the surroundings though? It should not be a random form but an outcome of the area's movements, views, neighboring buildings.

Basically you start your design process through the skin that wraps the program. But how does the structure of the building collaborate with the wrapper? Right now the relation between slabs and envelope seems unresolved.

Also, the transparent cube is a bit strange the way is positioned. What does it represent?
Is it an intention of positioning a transparent circulation core in the edge of the building? Is it a structural element? In any case, it seems out of scale; it is still a weak element composition wise.

It is great that you accompanied the concept model with sketches . I would advice that you also have a more descriptive text on your concept and your design intentions.

    Looking forward to your progress!
